Holiday Inn Stevenage

We completed a major refurbishment of the ground floor public areas of Holiday Inn Stevenage. Located in the heart of business hub in the centre of the New Town, the hotel marked its tenth anniversary of business with £1m of significant renovations. The key part of the refurbishment has been the implementation of Holiday Inn’s Open Plan concept, which has been hailed by the hotel brand as a ‘game-changer’ in the industry, challenging traditional perceptions of the hotel lobby and ‘revolutionising’ how the front of house spaces can be utilised.

At Stevenage, an existing stair core impeded the creation of a full Open Plan concept, and the plan dictated that the reception, restaurant, and bar should remain in their existing positions. Nevertheless, our contemporary design overcame these constraints by creating an open, flexible environment where guests can eat, drink, work, and socialise away from the guestrooms.
