The first fully refurbished Delta by Marriott in the UK

We were appointed to deliver the first fully refurbished Delta by Marriott in the UK with this project in Milton Keynes. Delta is Marriott’s refurbishment brand aimed at the discerning business traveller, and we worked closely with Marriott to develop the brand to suit this hotel, whilst adhering to our client’s exacting timeframe.

Milton Keynes is a utopian urban project dating from the 1960s, a garden city laid out on a grid over the rolling Buckinghamshire landscape, where high-tech industry meets low-rise suburbia. The underpinning conceptual narrative for the interior draws inspiration from both the ecology and technology of Milton Keynes. We explored this concept by superimposing patterns in circuit board systems onto the venation of leaves and the urban grain of the townscape — and this found expression in a feature ‘circuit-tree map’ of Milton Keynes at the hotel’s new reception. We rationalized the public space of the hotel, opening up the layout to create a flowing sequence of spaces for guests to enjoy working, eating and drinking. Styling includes bold use of colour and contemporary furniture, with a range of planting, accessories and artwork.
