Perle Oban Hotel & Spa
Maritime interiors on the west coast of Scotland
59 Bedroom hotel set on the harbourfront in the west coast town of Oban
The client's brief was to design a luxury hotel which gives guests the chance to relax and switch off from their everyday stresses. The Victorian building gives a wonderful character to the spaces it encloses. We preserved original cornicing, plasterwork and tiles — restoring them to their original beauty.
The design of the guestrooms uses a palette reminiscent of the water and waves that are visible out of the large guestroom windows. Blues and greens in a mix of fabrics from luxurious velvets and leathers to traditional, earthy tweeds and woollens create an atmosphere which is calm, contemplative and elegant. The dining room reception and lounge have a grand traditional appearance with contemporary twists that emphasise the theme of water and the local harbour — a theme running throughout this scheme of interiors.
