Turks & Caicos has existed as a stop-off point for travellers since it was first inhabited. It thrived as a producer of salt, which was so essential for preserving food on sea voyages that it was called white gold. Due to its remoteness, it was also a favoured stopping-off point for pirates such as Calico Jack, now visitors come for the stunning sandy beaches, mangrove lagoons, kite surfing and warm clear waters.

Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos is located in the Bight, one of Povo Island's original settlements. It is nestled near the lagoon of Juba Sound, on the pure sandy beach of Grace Bay – renowned as one of the best beaches in the world.

We designed the hotel with a focus around a guest courtyard, featuring a private bar/restaurant and a pool. Guests also enjoy the convenience of a coffee shop and a fitness center. Additionally, an on-site restaurant and shop are available to welcome both guests and visitors.

The resort landscaping has been carefully designed by EDSA, creating distinct zones within the tranquil courtyard setting. On-island support was provided by Conservative Architecture. The development features careful planting wrapping around the south and west of the site whilst the eastern and northern boundaries are delineated with indigenous trees and shrubs. The concept intent was to create unique spaces so that each guest finds an environment that suits them – whether it be cool, calm and shaded or lively, active and sun-drenched or a mixture of the two. This was further enhanced through changes in surface materials, vegetation planting and subtle changes in level.
