Setting new standards for student living

The buzzing city of Liverpool welcomes Bowline Student Accommodation to its ‘Knowledge Quarter’. Representing the vibrant, progressive, and diverse culture through the design — setting a new standard in this landscape.

Together with Falconer Chester Hall and Create Construction, Ica developed the interior of this new build construction. Comprising of 357 cluster rooms with shared facilities and 47 self-contained studio apartments. Along with a ground floor packed with amenities, from games areas to cinema, study zones to management facilities, and a sky-lounge to casually take in the colours and sights of the city.

The challenge with the studios was to fit all the requirements needed to cater to the diverse needs of the user into a very tight floor plan. Ica expertly pieced together well considered functional elements. A small footprint packed with clever solutions on a budget, without losing any of the fun. Clever use of colour zone the room and focus the space. Large full height windows fill the rooms with an abundance of natural daylight and generous views.

We have created a home-away-from-home that offers the student an environment in which to flourish.

Raising the bar for student living

Rigorous research was carried out by our team to establish the current market and needs of the student. Ica crafted a carefully balanced aspirational interior which stands up to the demands of student life. Utilising our extensive hotel experience brings a youthful hotel vibe.

Playfully inspired interiors

Natural materials and tones provide a sophisticated backdrop to the interior, interrupted with pops of colour to add vibrancy and youth. Quirky, sculptural pieces ensure a playful undertone is felt throughout. Liverpool’s famous musical heritage plays muse to the artwork inspiration, which is integral to the overall aesthetic.

Spaces to work, live and play

The accommodation affords a communal, social space to naturally interact whilst also giving space for focused study, through use of artful zoning solutions. A synergy which creates an environment which is not only uplifting and inspiring but also provides a secure, safe base.
